Dr. John Carroll

Dr. Carroll has dedicated his career to supporting athletes as a trainer, coach, and sports psychologist. A former football and baseball player at Phillips Academy and Amherst College, he went on to coach both sports before turning to athletic training and psychology.
He began training athletes through the Dragon Athletic Speed, Strength & Conditioning program and became a certified personal trainer in 2004. After moving to Los Angeles, he developed holistic programs and later earned his doctorate with a dissertation on “Performance Stress in Pro Athletes". Dr. Carroll has worked with veterans through the VA, supported clients in rehab settings, and currently leads workshops, lectures, and 1-on-1 sessions through Orange County Sports Psychology and CASP. He’s also the author of How to Play the Best Game of Your Life: The Ultimate Handbook for Athletes and is an active marathon runner.
Nathan Franco

Nathan Franco is a former student-athlete at Loyola Marymount University and now leads operations at CASP. After personally facing anxiety and depression as an athlete, he became passionate about athlete mental health advocacy. Drawing from his experience competing at elite levels, Franco supports athletes through mentorship and outreach, helping bridge communication between players, coaches, and leadership. His work complements Dr. Carroll’s mission to ensure every athlete can perform at their best—mentally and physically.
